The clients’ dream of a large kitchen/dining room, where you can see the garden while eating at the dining table. Where, when the weather is nice, the walls can slide open en the kitchen becomes part of the garden. The new kitchen will be built on the same spot as the old one. For this, the old extension will be replaced by a new one.

The main building is the old mayor’s home in Edam and thus a state monument. The new extension is designed with respect for the old estate by a succession of smaller buildings. Natural materials will be used and the relationship with the garden is leading in the design. The extension will also be a home for birds and insects.
